Family Centers

VOLUNTEERS

Volunteers are a vital part of Family Enhancement. Simply put, without them we could not provide our services. Many volunteers find their volunteer work experiences to be positive, rewarding and fulfilling. Volunteer opportunities are available days and evenings, Monday—Friday.

 

Current Volunteer Opportunities:

Play and Learn Volunteer:

We are looking for a volunteer to assist our staff Parent Educator in our FunZone Play and Learn group located at our Fordem Avenue building.  The volunteer would assist in set-up of art and other early childhood learning activities as well as be “extra hands” during the program.  Volunteers would model age-appropriate play with children from birth to five years old and help the group transition through clean-up, circle time and the main activities of the program.  One Volunteer is needed from 8:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. for each of the following days:

  • Mondays
  • Wednesdays
  • Fridays

Evening Childcare Volunteers:

Childcare volunteers provide a safe, stimulating, warm and caring environment for young children while parents attend our education/support groups.  Volunteers should enjoy spending time with children and be able to attend to the diverse needs of many children, zero to ten years old.  Volunteers are expected to be actively playing with children, reading or assisting with an activity.  We are looking for volunteers to provide childcare for our groups, 5:15 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on the following evenings: 

  • Mondays on the West Side of Madison
  • Wednesdays in our building on Fordem Avenue

Choose one or both evenings, or be available to substitute for an evening or two.  A minimum four month commitment is required in order to provide consistency and stability for the children in childcare.  All volunteers must submit to background checks.  If interested, please contact us at 608.241.5150 or volunteer@familyenhancement.org
