Family Centers

PARENTS' PLACES

PARENTS' PLACES are the core of our organization. They are groups, workshops and topically driven series that occur in various locations throughout Madison and Dane County. Through our Parents Places program, we provide education, support, information and referral to parents so that they can raise healthy, capable children ready to raise future generations. Parents Places focus on helping parents understand the ages and stages of development of their children so that they know what to expect. Our staff of professionals create a respectful atmosphere that is interactive and nonjudgmental for all. Group facilitators share useful, practical tips and techniques related to parents’ life circumstances, teach valuable skills and problem-solving strategies and encourage parents to form networks of support with each other. Groups and workshop series are located in our facility, local churches, schools and community centers and are dispersed geographically throughout Dane County to provide programs that are accessible to parents. All groups are open to general attendance while at the same time, some are targeted more specifically to Spanish speakers, pregnant and parenting teens or parents of adolescents and teenagers.
